In this video, I’m going to show you how to do full splits between chairs.
Maybe it’s one of those goals you’ve had for a while, or maybe you just want to see somebody do it and demonstrate how you actually get up into that position.
And my goal is to help people get fit healthy and strong at any age.
Flexibility and mobility is a big part of fitness, especially as you get older.
You have to be able to do the splits quite comfortably in order to do it in between chairs.
I’ve got a couple of videos to get you to the splits. If you’re not quite there. So you can watch those, try to practice those for several weeks or months, whatever it takes you. And then you can work your way up to the splits between chairs. It is a process that takes some time.
So please be patient. If it is one of your goals, you can do this.
What You Need To Do Splits Between Chairs
You have to be pretty comfortable in your split in multiple directions. You need to have quite loose hips in order to perform this. You’ll also have to be quite strong underneath. So your adductors and your glutes, hips, everything needs to be strong enough in order for you to maintain your position. It requires a lot of focus and concentration to stay up there.
Remember that it’s really important to warm up before you go into this and do a whole bunch of pre stretches to feel like your hips are open and ready to do the exercise and let’s get to the chairs.
Performing Splits Between Chairs
So it’s a good idea to have both chairs secure on either end because of my setup. I can’t actually do that and I’ll try anyway. So I bring my hands down, bring one leg up
The other leg. Take my time to get into the center and then pull up. This is quite challenging to hold. But it’s harder if you move the hands away. So I’m going to hold that one for a little bit
And then to come down. Woo. You want to come forward and one leg at a time, just kind of hop it down in a back.
